Performing live as a trio alongside André Soares and António Miguel Serra (Metamito), no one remains tied to a single instrument. The instruments themselves become part of the set design: a house, Cláudia Pascoal’s House, where a traditional Portuguese street party atmosphere is recreated. Folk drums coexist with refrigerators, showers and even ceramic dogs. Everything on stage becomes part of the music, making this much more than a concert featuring singles. Instead, audiences are invited to enter Cláudia Pascoal’s unique weird-kitsch universe.
Somewhere between traditional Portuguese music and contemporary pop, Cláudia Pascoal occupies a category entirely her own.
