The As Guitarras Não Têm Saudade music series returns to Coimbra with performances by Geologist and IT DEEL on 5 and 7 November, respectively. The series explores the sonic possibilities of stringed instruments.
Brian Ross Weitz, better known in the music world as Geologist and a member of Animal Collective, returns to Portugal to present his latest work, Can I Get a Pack of Camel Lights?. Released in January 2026, the album is Weitz’s first fully solo studio recording, following a number of collaborations with fellow members of the collective, including Avey Tare and Panda Bear.
Can I Get a Pack of Camel Lights? marks Geologist’s first step into a musical world in which his hurdy-gurdy takes on multiple forms, forming an epic, multicoloured electroacoustic tapestry inspired by his life. It is a journey shaped by traditional sounds, ritual atmospheres, avant-garde influences, progressive jazz, krautrock, post-punk and minimalist sensibilities, all merging into an infinite electronic landscape.
The concert will take place at CAV – Centro de Artes Visuais (Pátio da Inquisição 6, 3000-221 Coimbra). Doors open 30 minutes before the performance.
Discounts available for students, seniors aged 65 and over, and unemployed visitors.
